In No rest is silence, Polaroid emulsions are lifted and transferred onto another support. Through this process, they deteriorate, echoing the remnants of the destroyed and abandoned buildings they depict. This new fragility evokes loss, absence, and the effects of time and human intervention. Like ruins, these fragments of matter that remain are not silent: through their cracks and openings, life emerges.
